For families

One family account for all your children's searches — with a login for each family member.

In tribal communities, marriage is a matter for the whole family. Vivaham is built for that: parents, brothers, sisters and other relatives can take part in the search, while the young person stays in control of their own profile.

One family account, several children

  • A family account can hold a profile for each son or daughter who is looking to marry. A parent can manage both a son’s and a daughter’s search from one place.
  • Up to 8 family members can join the account.
  • Each member logs in with their own mobile number and OTP, even on a shared phone, and signs out when they are done.
  • New members join by invitation. A family admin, or the bride or groom whose profile is in the account, approves them.
  • Every action is recorded with the name of the person who did it, so the family always knows who changed what.

Who can do what

There are three roles for each profile: the profile owner (the bride or groom), the family admin, and family members. The table shows what each can do by default. The bride or groom can change these permissions for each family member on their own profile.

Some things only the bride or groom can ever do: give consent, accept an interest, use the private chat, and delete their profile. These cannot be handed to anyone else.

  • Shortlists and suggestions. Anyone in the family can save a profile to the shortlist or suggest it to the bride or groom — they will see, for example, “suggested by Mother”.
  • Family notes. Anyone in the family can write a private note on a profile they have seen. Notes are shared with everyone in your family account and are never shown to the other family.
  • Saved filters. Your family can save sets of filters — for example “Same district” — and switch between them.
  • The owner stays informed. The bride or groom is told about every change to their profile, every filter change, and every interest sent on their behalf. They can remove anyone’s access to their profile at any time, including a family admin.

Talking to the other family

When an interest is accepted, a family group chat opens with everyone from both family accounts. Each family can see who is in the chat, how they are related to the bride or groom, and whether they are verified. You are told when someone joins or leaves.

The bride and groom can also open a private chat with each other, if both of them turn it on. Family members cannot read it. This gives the young people space to get to know each other, with their families close by.
